It’s not who you will walk down the aisle with or
what career path you choose. The most important
decision you will ever make is a decision that has
eternal consequences.
When Jesus was about to be crucified, the Roman
leader, Pilate, looked
out among the crowd and asked this question, “Then
what shall I do with this Jesus, who is called the
Christ?” Pilate’s question is the same one we all
must answer.
To accept Jesus as your savior is undoubtedly the
most important decision you will ever make. It will
affect the rest of your life on this earth, and it
will determine your destiny after you leave this
world.
To wait or put off this decision is the same as not
accepting His gift. There is no middle ground.
If someone approached you in a parking lot and
wanted to hand you a gift, you would have to accept
it – or reject it. There’s no other option. And the
gift is too precious to be left on the ground. Your
opportunity to accept the gift will only come for a
limited time – none of us knows what tomorrow holds.
1. GOD'S PLAN - Peace and Eternal Life
God loves you and wants you to experience His peace
and eternal life. The BIBLE says..."For God so loved
the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life." John 3:16
2. MAN'S PROBLEM - Separation
Being at peace with God is not automatic because you
by nature are separated from God. The BIBLE says...
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God." Romans 3:23
3. GOD'S REMEDY - The Cross
God's love bridges the gap of separation between God
and you. When Jesus Christ died on the Cross and
rose from the grave, He paid the penalty for your
sins. The BIBLE says... "He personally carried the
load of our sins in his own body when he died on the
cross..." 1 Peter 2:24
4. MAN'S RESPONSE - Receive Christ
You cross the bridge into God's family when you
receive Christ by personal invitation. The BIBLE
says... "But as many as received Him, to them He
gave the right to become children of God, even to
those who believe in His name..." John 1:12
Prayer to Receive Jesus . . .
You can pray to God in your own words. This is
merely an example of what you might be feeling and
wanting to say.
God knows your heart.
Almighty Father,
I know and acknowledge that I am a sinner. I repent,
right now, of all my sins, and I am asking you to
forgive me. You said in your Word, "Whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"
(Romans 10:13). And so, I am calling on the name of
your Son, Jesus, to come into my heart and be my
Savior.
I believe with my heart that
Jesus died for my sins and was raised from the dead
so that I may have eternal life. I confess Him,
right now, as my Lord.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
If you have trusted Jesus to be your savior, you can
know that you will spend eternity in Heaven - It is
a finished work accomplished by God.
Someday when you cross over and leave this world to
enter Heaven - All the glory and praise will go to
Him.
If you were to get there because of your own
goodness, then the glory would be yours. But
you can relax and know this, you will be giving
Jesus Christ the praise and thanks. You will be
in Heaven because of what He did - NOT because of
your own works.
